2006 Congress Sessions

2006 Congress Call for Papers is posted on the ASME site. We have 97 requests for sessions and have only been allocated 63. These are distributed as: 5 on Wednesday afternoon, 23 on Thursday and 25 on Friday. The only way we appear to be able to expand this is to collaborate with the thematic track sessions.

  • This is very helpful information. It would be wonderful if your could periodically post your dealings with ASME, and things that you've learned. We'd all be interested.

  • Another way to increase the number of "mechanics" sessions may be to encourage our members to seek sessions from other divisions, for future congresses, of course. For 2006, Aman Haque have several sessions on "Materials and Applied Mechanics" in MEMS division, which would serve many AMD members as well. Other divisions that constantly see AMD members include Materials and Packaging divisions. The new Integrated Structures committee is trying to co-organize a joint symposium with several other divisions, but will face the challenge to coordinate within the ASME program.
